Best law firm websites: 10 from page one, scored.

Most lists of the best law firm websites judge how a site looks. This one checks what a site does. I took the firms that showed up for one real search, ran each home page through the same two checks, and ranked them.

How the 10 were chosen

I did not pick favourites. On 1 October 2026 I searched Google for “personal injury lawyer laurens sc”, and the next day I asked ChatGPT the same question. These are the 10 law firms whose own websites appeared in either one. They are South Carolina injury firms, large and small, so this is one town’s page one and not the whole country.

Each home page went through two checks on 5 October 2026: my website grader, which looks at what a visitor meets, and my AEO checker, which looks at what an AI assistant can read. Both start at 100 and take points off for each problem. The rank is the average of the two.

Checked 5 October 2026. A check reads one page with fixed rules. It can miss something a person would see, and a site can change the next day. The scores describe the page, not the firm or its lawyers.

What page one has in common

Two things stand out. 10 of 10 let AI crawlers read the site, and 9 of 10 write the firm’s details into the page code. That is the groundwork an assistant needs before it can name a firm.

The weak spot is the first screen. Only 1 of 10 name both the work and the place in the main headline, and 7 of 10 ask for more than five things on a form. A new firm can do better on both from its first day.

What a new firm should copy

  1. Say what you do and where in the first line. Not a slogan. The kind of case and the town.
  2. Make the phone number a button at the top of every page.
  3. Keep the form short. Name, phone, what happened.
  4. Write your details into the page code as a legal service: name, address, phone, hours, area served.
  5. Answer the questions clients ask, each as its own heading with a plain answer under it.
  6. Give each kind of case and each town its own page. A page can only be found for what it is about.

About this list

Checked, not judged.

  • No firm paid to be here or asked to be here.
  • Every mark is a rule that passed or did not on the date shown.
  • If you run one of these firms and something is wrong, tell me and I will check it again.
What makes a law firm website good?

It tells a visitor what the firm does and where in the first line, makes calling one tap, keeps the form short, and gives search engines and AI assistants the firm’s details in a form they can read.

Why are big firms not at the top?

The checks do not measure size, budget or design. A large site can still open with a slogan or ask for ten things on a form.

Why only South Carolina firms?

The list comes from one real search in one town, so that nobody was hand-picked.

Can I see the same check for my firm?

Yes. The website grader and the AEO checker on this site are the same two checks, and both are free.

Does a high score mean more clients?

No. It means fewer things on the page are turning people away. How many clients a site brings also depends on the town, the competition and the firm’s reviews.

Turn searches into clients.
