People now ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI who to call. Enter your page and see your score and the three biggest things that stop an assistant from reading it or naming you. No email needed.
Why it matters
On 2 October 2026 I asked ChatGPT for a good injury lawyer in one small town. It named four firms and listed where it read about them: a firm’s own website and a lawyer directory. A local firm with no website was not in the answer.

Answer engine optimization, or AEO, means making your business easy for an AI assistant to read, understand and name. Search engines show a list of links. An answer engine gives one short answer and names a few businesses in it. If you are not one of them, there is no second page to be found on.
It is not a new trick. An assistant learns about a business the same way a careful person would: it reads your website, your Google listing and the directories that mention you, and it checks that they agree.
No one can make an assistant name you, and no one outside these companies can see why it chose one business over another. Anyone who promises a place in ChatGPT is guessing. What can be done is the list above: remove every reason an assistant has to skip you. This checker tests the parts of that list that can be tested from the outside.
Mostly it is the same work, done properly. A site that is clear about what it does and where, loads its words without scripts, and matches its Google listing does well in both. The two things AEO adds are checking that AI crawlers are allowed in, and writing real answers to the questions people ask.
What it checks
How it works
A tool that reads a web page the way an AI crawler does and reports what would stop an assistant from reading it, understanding it, or naming the business.
There is no ranking you can buy or set. Let its crawlers in, put your words in the page itself, state who you are and where you work in the page code, answer the questions people ask, and keep your Google listing and directories matching your site.
No. It is a new idea for giving assistants a summary of a site, and no assistant has said it relies on one. It does no harm, so the checker notes it when it finds one and takes no points off when it does not.
That is your choice. Blocking them keeps your words out of AI training and out of AI answers alike. A local business that wants calls usually wants to be read.
Yes. It reads any public page. Tell it what you do and where, and it also checks that the headline says so.
Nobody outside those companies knows. Search engines usually pick up a changed page within days or weeks, and assistants lean on search results, so fixing the page is the part you control.
Or your business name, if you have no website yet.
